Timeline covers a wide range of funds in the system and tracks the funds' underlying weightings. We make sure that we accurately assign each fund to the appropriate Timeline Asset Class or Classes (for Timeline Asset Classes please see: Asset Class Returns Data Series | Timeline Help Centre (timelineapp.co) ).
Funds are broadly split into Single-Asset Class and Multi-Asset Class funds.
Single-Asset Class Funds
Single-Asset funds invest predominantly or exclusively in a single asset class. We will assign each single-asset class in the most appropriate Timeline Asset Class after consulting the Morningstar Category of the fund (please see Matching Timeline Asset Classes with Morningstar and Investment Association | Timeline Help Centre (timelineapp.co) )
If a fund does not have a Morningstar Category, it’s not a problem. We have all the necessary information needed to assign an accurate category.
Multi-Asset Class Funds
Multi-Asset funds invest in more than one asset class. We map the fund’s holdings to Timeline’s asset classes and make sure we have the latest updates. So, you can have complete peace of mind that you are using the latest available data.
Some asset breakdowns, disclosed by fund managers, are not as detailed as we would like them to be. In these cases, we will source all the additional information until we are happy that your fund is accurately mapped. We do the leg work, so you don’t have to!
We cover 10,000+ funds but sometimes a fund might crop up that we have not come across before. In these cases, drop us a request to add the fund, and we can quickly add them into our powerful software. No matter the complexity of the fund’s asset allocation, we can add it to our systems quickly, causing minimal disruption to you or your clients. We’re here to make your life easier, after all.
